Mark Walton - President
Mark is a native of Fort Worth. He understands this city and the needs of the people who live and work here. He began his professional career with KPMG International before establishing his own practice in 1986. In 2001, he founded the Walton Group. With over 35 years of experience, he has seen it all. Mark has devoted his life to enhancing his skillset, and the Walton Group is a manifestation of his commitment to excellence and dedication to client service.
Prior to joining the Walton Group, Gary spent the majority of his career working for medium to large-sized corporations. During that time, he was responsible for a wide variety of tax functions, including: federal income tax, state income tax, property tax, and sales tax. He also handled the tax audits in each of those areas. In April of 2015, Gary joined the team at the Walton Group.
Deanna graduated from Aledo High School in three years, and began taking classes at Texas Wesleyan. She graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration. After working for a few months at the Walton Group as an intern, she accepted a full-time position in 2014. What she enjoys most about her job are the hands-on experience and education she receives from the people around her.
Prior to joining the Walton Group, Debbie worked for an insurance company, automobile and boat dealerships, a medical braces manufacturing company and a variety small businesses in accounting functions. She joined the Walton Group initially to learn non-profit accounting. She spends most of her time working with our non-profit clients, and is the in-house expert on bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and payroll services.
After completing his BBA in Accounting at Texas State University, San Marcos in 1993, Andy began his career with Whitley Penn and Associates. Before joining the Walton Group in 2003, he worked for two other local CPA firms where he gained expertise focusing on assurance and attestation services. He now serves as the Director of Assurance services for the Walton Group. He is responsible for managing audit, review and agreed-upon procedures engagements.
Brennan graduated from Tarleton State University in 1987 with his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Accounting. He got his CPA in 1990 and from 1987 to 1995, he gained industry experience working for Brantley, Frazier, Rogers P.C., a local Fort Worth CPA firm. He ran his own CPA practice from 1995 to 2007, before merging with the Walton Group. Brennan focuses his time on tax functions and research.
After graduating from TCU, Amanda spent the first 3 years of her career at KPMG focused on auditing financial services entities. She then served as the controller for a start-up hedge fund, where she was responsible for accounting and investor relations. While there, she prepared the financial statements, and oversaw the completion of the audit and tax return. In November 2013, she joined the Walton Group.
A Fort Worth native and TCU graduate, Liz spent the first 6 years of her career at BNSF Railway developing a strong understanding of finance and accounting practices, building and maintaining relationships, leveraging available technology, managing special projects and producing meaningful information out of large pools of data. Liz joined the Walton Group in January 2016 to continue expanding her skillset.
After graduating from TCU in May 2015, Michael completed a year long fellowship program at Esperanza International, a microfinance organization in the Dominican Republic. After returning to Fort Worth, he joined the Walton Group in August 2016 to spearhead various systems projects. He focuses his time on finding ways to further optimize our operations.
Josh completed his MS degree in Taxation in 2011 at UNT while interning with the Walton Group. Shortly thereafter, he earned his CPA. He graduated from Texas Tech in 2004 with a BS in Horticulture, and spent several years working on golf courses in both California and Texas. He remain very active in the community with the Fort Worth Chapter of TSCPA and through his church.
Dedicated and loyal to the Walton Group and her co-workers, Brenda is a fun loving, hard worker. Brenda was hired by the Walton Group in May 2014 to handle all the firm's administrative duties. Since she came on, she has developed a passion for preparing individuals' personal income tax returns. She greets everyone that enters the office with smile.
